A master bedroom is a very personal space to design. Sara has captured both feminine and masculine elements in her design presentation by mixing textures, patterns, a soft glowing color palette and interesting wood finishes. The focal point is a tailored upholstered bed along with layering a combination of fine and custom linens. Her favorite design aspect of this interior is the wallpapered ceiling, shown in the pattern below, although this is not the colorway that was selected.

Sara selected the following elements for the Master Bedroom Suite:

-King size upholstered bed
-Soft cream coverlet and shams
-Custom duvet cover in pattern featuring gold, gray and taupe
-Shimmering textiles for bench and accent pillows
-Custom window treatment – in gold, silver and taupe pattern
-Velvet for small accent chair
-Wallpaper (in a different colorway) for ceiling
-Dark finish for night stands and chest
-Aged gray finish for media center/buffet

INSIDER DESIGN TIP: Sara loves to think outside the box and consider how to creatively use furniture designed for other spaces in unexpected places. She chose a long, slender dining buffet in an aged gray finish for the focal point in this bedroom. It appears to be an antique, which adds to the character of the interior. The client loves the fact that it functions as a media center, yet offers lots of storage. Simply lovely!

Sara, I love the skillful mix of fabrics and finishes; beautiful!
