Did you know May is bike month?

Posted on May 12, 2015 in Blog

It’s time to hop on your bike and start exploring Mequon-Thiensville! We have some of the best bike trails in the state. Did you know the Ozaukee Interurban Trail passes right behind McNabb & Risley? The route is based on the 1908 railway track that connected Milwaukee to Sheboygan. Today it’s a 30 mile off road bike trail that spans the length of Ozaukee County. I hope you have time to enjoy the trail this summer!

My favorite stops along the way are:

The Frank L. Weyenberg Library

Enjoy the great playground, garden and explore the fabulous children’s library inside. My granddaughters love the kid-friendly décor, toys and a great selection of books at their eye-level!

Fiddleheads Coffee Café

Enjoy the best skinny latte in the world! Ever! If it’s lunch time, try the hummus plate or the Fiddlehead sandwich. It’s my husband’s favorite and served with a side of mini carrots. Yum!

McNabb & Risley, Fine Furniture & Interior Design

You really should stop in and see us! We have been told the showroom is even more beautiful that the website! I’m just saying…

Extreme Ski & Bike

My husband’s favorite hangout, located a few doors north of McNabb & Risley. Discover a great selection of bikes, gear and great customer service. This could be your favorite hangout too!

Frenz Garden Center

I’ve mentioned Frenz’ Garden Center earlier in the blog, but you are within walking distance of the garden center and shouldn’t pass it by! They will allow you to make your selections and pick up your purchases after your bike ride. I am eyeing up the huge bright pink geraniums as we speak!

Chuck’s Place

Experience the best homemade chicken soup in town and enjoy super friendly service too! They are also well known for their award winning deep dish pizza; give it a try. Stop in and be treated like a local!
