This is a design project I recently completed for my client and it demonstrates how quality custom home furnishings can enhance your home. I wanted to create an elegant comfortable space for my client and her family to gather and relax. I believe these spool chairs are an excellent investment because they are handcrafted in the USA, offer comfort, and are beautiful from any angle in my client’s home.

Spool chairs date back to colonial times and they are a re-emerging trend in home furnishings only updated with decorative painted finishes and colorful upholstery. My clients chair features an antique white finish and a subtle woven Ikat fabric in soft blue, taupe, chartreuse, and ivory. The quality of this woven fabric is superb and my client fell in love with it immediately!

I chose a neutral wool hand-knotted area rug that I had custom tailored to the inch for the space. There is a touch of silver metallic thread in the lattice pattern which is quite unusual and adds a little sparkle. I completed the interior with custom window treatment that feature a “color block” concept which adds interest to the setting. The window treatments softly frame the window’s and allow light int.

This setting is classic and timeless and I know my client will enjoy this space forever!
