Just because a space is small, doesn’t mean it can’t be spectacular!

My clients' entryway is a perfect example how a little imagination and a lot of color can maximize the design potential!  The wool turquoise and taupe area rug defines this space and complements the hand-painted mural.

The inspiration for the mural came to me because I couldn't find a wallpaper I loved, and my clients are art collectors, so this was a perfect solution for this space.  The mural is a floor to ceiling custom painting featuring a color block concept and layer upon layer of paint and glazes.  The artist, the homeowner, and I worked closely over a several week period to achieve the finished result.  Simply breathtaking!

I suggested these multiple paintings in neutral tones to my client and she loved the effect!  The paintings draw you down the hall to the bath and bedrooms.

Metal wall sculpture between entry and great room.

These peacock prints inspired the color palette of the entire home and are hung in the entryway.

I would like to thank the Gall family for allowing the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and McNabb & Risley Fine Furniture and Interior Design to feature their beautiful home.  It was so much fun to assist them throughout the design project and we loved the finished result.  I hope you do as well!

Yours, Tara Wilke
