Gather round the table and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa and sugar cookies! Need a great cocoa recipe? Try my simple peppermint hot chocolate recipe; I love to whip this up on cold snowy days.

Peppermint Hot Chocolate: (Prep time: 10 minutes)
1 cup whole milk
2 tbsp crushed peppermint candies
5 oz. milk chocolate chopped into small pieces
Whipped cream (for topping)

Combine milk and peppermint in a small sauce pan, heat on low for 4 to 5 minutes until candy dissolves. Add chocolate and stir until chocolate melts. Pour into mug. Top with whipped cream and crushed peppermint candies; serve immediately.

Now here’s a revised recipe for the grown up kids! Must be over 21 to indulge…

Peppermint Cocoa with a Kick
7 oz. whole milk
5 oz. Milk chocolate, chopped
1 oz. Peppermint Schnapps
Whipped cream (for topping)
Peppermint candies (for topping)

Combine milk and chocolate in a small sauce pan, heat on low until chocolate melts, pour into mug. Stir in peppermint Schnapps and top with whipped cream and crushed peppermint candies.

FYI, this hot rich drink makes a simple and quick after dinner drink to serve during the holidays. Enjoy!
